1. Two separate purchases
A merchant’s Quote to Paid software subscription and a customer’s payment for goods or services are separate transactions. Canceling one does not automatically cancel the other. This policy is a draft; effective date and US legal operator are to be provided after legal review.
2. Software subscription cancellation — proposed policy
Paid software subscriptions are not yet available. The proposed policy allows merchants to request cancellation before their next renewal, with access continuing through the paid period. A cancellation method, notice requirements, billing interval, and exact renewal terms must be presented before paid enrollment. No subscription charge is authorized by this draft.
3. Software subscription refunds — proposed policy
The proposed policy does not provide automatic prorated refunds for unused time, except where required by law or agreed in writing. Duplicate charges, billing errors, and failure to deliver the paid software service would be reviewed for an appropriate refund. Final refund eligibility, request process, and timing must be disclosed before subscription sales begin; they are not yet finalized.
4. Merchant orders, deposits, and remaining balances
The merchant named on the quote, service agreement, or receipt provides the goods or services and sets its cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, and refund terms, subject to applicable law. Do not assume that every deposit is non-refundable. Review your merchant’s agreement before paying and contact that merchant to request a change or refund. 24 Helpful does not set or override the merchant’s order policy.
5. Processing a refund
When online collection is enabled, the workbench automatically adds a customer processing fee to each deposit or balance payment: card payments use the percentage stated in the service agreement; online ACH adds 0.8%, capped at $5 per payment. The workbench adds no fee for offline bank transfers (a bank may charge its own fees). These customer fees are not a 24 Helpful platform commission. Merchant payments are processed by Stripe and funds go to the merchant’s own Stripe account. The merchant initiates eligible refunds through Stripe and communicates the amount and expected timing. Actual posting depends on Stripe, the payment method, and financial institutions. Whether any separately disclosed card or ACH fee is refundable depends on the merchant’s disclosed policy and applicable law; no universal fee-refund promise is made here.
6. Disputes and failed payments
The merchant handles customer payment questions and responds to disputes through Stripe. Customers retain any rights available through their bank, card issuer, or applicable law. 24 Helpful can assist with software issues but does not adjudicate disputes or guarantee outcomes. ACH initiation is not final settlement; failed, reversed, or disputed payments may require the merchant and customer to arrange payment again.
7. Contact
For an order refund or cancellation, use the merchant contact on your quote, contract, or receipt. For a future software subscription request, the 24 Helpful support email and US mailing address are to be provided on the Contact page before paid subscriptions open.
